In a bit of unbelievable news, the Western Writers of America just chose Native but Foreign as the winner of the 2019 Spur Award for Best Historical Nonfiction Book.
It is an intimidating list of past winners (and finalists) and I’m honored to be added to a list that includes the likes of Louis S. Warren, Colin Calloway, Will Bagley, Andrew Hutton, Stan Hoig, C.
